Closing Ceremony of the National Parliament

With the presence of the Head of State and the principal leaders of the fundamental institutions of the nation, a closing ceremony of the bicameral National Parliament was held. "Peace and welfare are not abstract but tangible, they are perceived and experienced," said the President in his speech.

At approximately 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, the court of honor, headed by the President of the Senate, Teresa Efua Asangono, received the Head of State of Equatorial Guinea, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, when he went to the Conference Center of Ngolo in Bata to preside over the solemn closing ceremony of the work of the First Regular session of the Bicameral National Parliament, for this year 2014.

Summit of the Group of 10 of the AU

H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo is participating in the Republic of Congo in the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Group of 10 of the African Union (AU) on the reform of the United Nations Security Council.

The meeting of Heads of State was preceded by the celebration on May 15 of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Committee of Permanent Representatives, who, in addition to discussing the issue of the UN Security Council reform, addressed matters related to peace and security in Africa.

In Brussels, President Obiang, along with the other African leaders, calls for peace and security as a basis for progress

On April 2 and 3, the President of the Republic attended in Brussels the EU-Africa summit. In this fourth meeting, both parties agreed to cooperate in combating illegal immigration and promote peace and stability. It has also set a roadmap that frames bilateral relations until 2017.
