The Cervantes Institute’s headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, was the venue in which the President spoke of the importance of keeping the Spanish language alive on the African continent. Equatorial Guinea is the only country in Africa that has Spanish as an official language: one more of the historical and cultural ties that unite it to Spain.

Activities of the Presidential Couple in Swaziland

The Head of State and the First Lady travelled on Wednesday, January 22, to the Kingdom of Swaziland, where they remained until Thursday, January 24. During the trip they carried out different activities, accompanied by the Head of Government and by the members of the Royal Family of that country, with whom they are joined by a great friendship. Next, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo will also travel to Ethiopia to participate in the 22nd Summit of the African Union.

The Paris Security Summit comes to an end

H.E. the Head of State of Equatorial Guinea left the French capital after attending the first day of this historic meeting, marked by the death of Nelson Mandela.

On December 5, 2013, when a large part of  the African leaders were in Paris (France) to participate in the Summit on Peace and Security in Africa, convened by the French President François Hollande, the world was shocked by the news of the death of Nelson Mandela, the most prominent figure, possibly, in the history of the African continent.
