Speech by the President at the Summit of Heads of State of the Gulf of Guinea Commission

H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo made a strong speech in which he gave an overview of the main problems faced by the Gulf of Guinea Commission (GGC), and the availability of the Government of Equatorial Guinea to work with greater intensity on their resolution.

The President of the Republic began his speech by giving a warm welcome to all the Heads of State and Government, their representatives and all the delegates, to whom he wished a happy stay and he encouraged them to do their jobs satisfactorily.

The President of the Republic receives the Kim Jong-il award

The member countries of the Labor Party commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and others that are part of the International Directive Council of the Kim Jong-il Award, were received early on Monday by the Head of State of Equatorial Guinea, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, in a courtesy audience before the ceremony of the First International Kim Jong-il Award.

Visit of the President of Guinea Conakry

On Thursday, the population of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea gave a warm welcome to the President of the Republic of Guinea, Alpha Conde, who led his country's delegation on an official visit to Equatorial Guinea from July 17 to 18.
Upon his arrival at the airport of Malabo, the leader of Guinea Conakry was received with military honors by various authorities led by his counterpart, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, supported by the First Vice President for Presidential Affairs, Ignacio Milam Tang, the presidents of the constitutional bodies, members of the Government, led by the Prime Minister, and other political and administrative authorities.

AU Summit on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria

The conference was held in Abuja (Nigeria) between July 12 and 16 and had the theme "The Property, Responsibility and Sustainability of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Africa. Response: Past, Present and Future".

The special summit was chaired by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan Ebele, in collaboration with the UN agencies and other development partners.

The President of Benin visits Equatorial Guinea

A delegation from the Republic of Benin, headed by the Head of State, Thomas Boni Yayi, and composed of the Ministers of Planning and Finance, Marcel de Zouza and Jonas Gbiang, carried out a 24-hour working visit to the city of Malabo.
The visit, part of the cooperation agreements signed between Benin and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, also served to strengthen the ties of friendship and brotherhood between the peoples and governments of Cotonou and Malabo.
Returning to his country on Sunday morning, Boni Yayi was seen off at the Malabo airport by his Equatorial Guinean counterpart, H.E Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, supported by some Government members and advisors of the President of the Republic.
